Our coaching model and philosophy

The pathway for nature-based healing and recovery that I share through my coaching program was chosen very intentionally after a deep dive into health and wellness research and teachings following my cancer diagnosis. The extensive coursework and literature I discovered have led me to a fresh understanding of how our bodies actually maintain health and vitality. I believe this path is the most effective way to reduce my own personal risk of having a recurrence of cancer and that it applies to all of us. Indeed, it seems clear to me that our modern life has, by and large, led us off this path, explaining the rise in cancer rates and so many other chronic diseases and mysterious afflictions faced by modern humans. The steps along this path are simple and intuitive and, when you learn about them, your mind says “yes, of course!”. The challenge lies in “how” to implement these changes and you will have a thousand questions as you begin to select new routines and foods and wonder things like “how much time?” or “what time of day?” or “can I eat this or that? sometimes or never?” or “why does this or that matter?” or “how do I know if what I’m doing is working?”. The answers to these questions cannot be easily found online, in the latest diet book, or on your favorite Instagram feed. Many of them have an answer unique to you and I can help you navigate this.

Because cancer is no joke, if you already have a cancer diagnosis there may be other aspects of care within the conventional medical system that are essential to your healing and recovery. However, every surgical, pharmaceutical, and radiological cancer treatment comes with both risks and benefits. These treatments are often physically damaging, toxic, or cancer-causing in and of themselves and it is wise to be judicious about which treatments are necessary for you. In supporting you on your healing journey, I am joined by my husband, Joe, who through his research and teaching experiences has in-depth knowledge of immunology, microbiology, and cancer biology. Within our joint coaching model, our combined expertise will provide you with information and discussions that you expect to come from your doctor but, because of their hectic schedules and limited purview, are not always forthcoming. We will discuss your diagnosis with you, helping you understand the medical jargon in your biopsy, imaging, pathology, surgery or bloodwork reports, supporting you to ask the right questions of your doctor so that you receive the best care possible for your unique situation. In addition, if you, like so many others, are having issues with insurance covering a treatment option, we also offer a service that provides you with an insurance appeal letter derived from the published scientific literature.

The ultimate goal is that you do not die from cancer, now or in the future. Achieving that outcome will require you to make many hard decisions with no clear road map to guide you. Beyond technical help with your immediate diagnosis, we offer mid or long-term coaching in nature-based therapies that we believe are essential to recovery and prevention of cancer recurrences. This includes teaching you about the proven benefits of natural light, toxin-free water, whole food diets, and time outdoors. Beyond that, you will be educated about harmful aspects of modern life and provided with recommendations that will support you to minimize or avoid the setbacks that can come from the unnatural aspects of our environment and culture. Our coaching program is designed to help you fit this new knowledge and these important changes into the context of your life, allowing you to lead a healthier life while still enjoying those aspects of life that are most important to you.
